Hey Bryce, thanks for the info. FYI Spinies and smooth dogfish are about as distantly related as you can get. Smooth dogfish are a type of smoothhound shark which is reasonably closely related to your average looking reef shark that you'd find in th…

Hey Bryce, regarding the little inshore sharks that you chum up, do you see dusky smoothhounds aka smooth dogfish?

Stacey, how did you make out with the leopards? They generally come through in waves. Some days there are hundreds and other days barely any.

Hi Steven, Cocos is one of the finest places on the planet for shark diving. The hammers can be difficult to approach but the schooling hammerhead shots that look like the sky is filled with sharks is a great alternative if you can't nail any close…

OK, so you want to go dive with sharks, best if you know when is the best time and what to expect to see. Keep track of where and when here. Image © 2009 MiDive Networks

Bucket list, hmmm... Malpelo Smalltooth Sandtigers at 200ft. Cape Town cat sharks - who cares about whites when there are crazy looking cats! Raja Ampat epaulette sharks - new species discovered last year! Izu Peninsula Japan - just crazy stuff: a…

Mark, what's wrong with Bali kopi?!!! Any coffee thick enough to cut into slices has to be good. One day' I'll run a middle eastern liveaboard where we sit on the stern of the boat and drink spiced coffee served by a dive master in a fez. There you…

Hi Gerardo, Eli and I once had a school of blacktip sharks swim past us in North Carolina when we were diving with Sandtigers. Thats the only time I have seen them on this side of the Atlantic. Maybe we'll get lucky at Sharkfest and see them again.…

Hey Adam, when we were shooting 'Summer of the Sharks' we did some dives at the other end of town just around the bend from Lovers Cove. We were looking for horn sharks (which we found) but I also saw a bunch of swell shark eggs in that area. They w…

Hi George, you are welcome to just come for the diving. There is only a $60 difference for the lodge so if you have other arrangements the fee for three days of shark diving with us will be 580 instead of 640. Please let me know asap as the boat is…

Hey Andy welcome to the group, good to see you here. Looking forward to rolling this puppy out once and for all. I never thought the programming of these small Apps would be so damned messy. Not long now though. Making sure we get a class product. Looking forward to interacting with you here. Please tinker with the site and look to see what could be done to improve it. I will make what changes I can before we take this one live, this is still in the beta phase. Cheers again, Mark.

You should be able to add stories and comments. This is what I need, to get this place running as it should. Let me know what you cannot seem to do and I will get on it. Cheers.

Yeah, it's sort of true that they are hard to approach - but i would think its no diff than bull sharks anywhere else. just hold your breath and try not to scare them. viz is hit or miss here. the best place to see them is Islas Murcielagos, the Bat Islands on the Pacific. This season almost every boat is seeing them!! i saw some illegal fishermen out there a few weeks ago so i'm worried about their safety.

The fishermen have known about them for a long time though. I imagine the Taiwanese fleets have cleared out a lot of the inshore sharks by now. Hopefully the bull sharks that are left are the smart ones.
