Better be quick, August is just around the corner!
Hi!
First off let me say that I'm a HUGE fan of elasmodiver and the predators in peril project. I love the photos of the banded guitar fish you took! Amazing. I have a question though, for your location you said Vancouver island, have you happened to have done the dives down there that look for the sixgilled sharks? I am really hoping to see them and i might be able to go there so I am really interested in the diving there and seeing sixgills. Is the diving nice? Thank you sooo much!
Thanks Adam! BC diving is stunning. Sixgill sighting are so hot and cold though. I encountered one 3 summers ago right off the town jetty in a little place called Tahsis on the west coast of Vancouver Island. They were seen there on every other dive that summer but i hear the phenomenon is now over. We might be organizing an exploratory Sixgill trip to Barkley Sound on the rugged west coast some time in August if there is enough interest. Until then I'll keep my ear to the ground and wait for the Sixgills to resurface.
