Hi, being new here, whilst creating my profile, I thought I'd post a blog, using an article I had published in DIVER Magazine's August '09 edition.
Shark feeding is a subject I am extremely interested in, in particular, the behavioural aspect and being a subject that causes a great deal of discussion, both informed and ill informed (usually the latter) I tho

it looks my diving plans for the rest of the year have been well and truly scuppered after a workplace blood pressure testing session this week.
To say things were a little on the high side is a bit of an understatement.
I've got an appointment with the doctors booked for next week so I'm going to be looking at meds to keep things under control.
I was doing my divemaster course but I know thats going to be out of the question now, just hoping that things can be kept und

from the description:
"In an effort to make sharks (a very misunderstood animal that also happens to be one of my favorites) more cuddly, I designed and produced a prototype for the ChumBuddy."
So, you agree that sharks are misunderstood, and you claim that they're a favorite animal of yours, so in response you create a

For the most part I have found that divers respect the environment and its ecology. The rule that we leave nothing and take nothing but memories and photographs has always been one that I have believed in and adhered to. It is for this reason that I oppose the act of removing creatures from the wild for display in aquariums and marineparks such as Sea World. Hearing of white sharks in captivity is disheartening enough but I have recently heard of a Japanese Organization that has 3 Whale Sharks,…

Thought you might be interested in a local TV
interview some of us did in San Diego this week, about the recent
appearance of 7 Gill sharks in San Diego, something that has actually
been going on for the past 2 years or so, but the public is only just
now becoming aware of.
The reporter first interviewed some of us local divers, about our experiences with
this species of shark, and

Hi all,
I'd like to take the time to touch base and ask what is required of the site to make it more interactive? I have asked on a few occasions in the past for feedback on items such as the planned Chat Room and also on whether or not the Quiz we ran was engaging or not. To both of these requests I received silence.
I have tried to create something here that should benefit everyone connected with supplying tours and trips to an avid and eager audience. And yet the site seems to be…

It has been a while since we have seen stupid people "interact" with sharks. I just read a post and saw the videos over at Shark Diver. The videos pretty much speak for themselves - two drunk idiots (stereotypical college buffoons) getting into a pool with nu

Greetings to all my fellow bubble blowers,
I wanted to take the opportunity to introduce myself. Certified in 1996 but due to life's stuff did not really immerse in diving until four years back. My wife and I now are in the water every chance we can. We are SSI instructors and this fall becoming adaptive instructors. Our local dive spot is Lake Mojave below the Hoover dam. It is a good place to stay wet and do OWI lessons. Yearly we get international three to four times. This year is the Bah

Well I gotta mention that living in Indonesia one constantly thinks that getting clothing items such as Tshirts and other promotional items would be a breeze! It is if you are after releasing mass produced, low quality items to an unsuspecting tourist based clientele, quite another to create something with more quality.
We've been through the wringer with regards to getting our anti-shark finning rash guard produced. First a problem with inks running, when the running stopped we found…

Just saw this clip about a nurse shark with a ring around the gills from Jupiter, Florida. I'm sure the photo/video people will have mixed reactions to some of the commentary :)

I just saw a doc about the interest of keeping great white sharks in captivity in Aquarium http://www.montereybayaquarium.org like the one on California.
It stucked me!
So face to a giant aquarium we can observe the great white shark crossing other species like green turtles, tuna, the hammer heads sharks, and more...
Obvioulsy they try to feed the shark with pieces of salmon

Hey there,
As you can see I'm in a bit of a writing splurge at the mo so why waste it? It would be great to try and get some dialog going here so c'mon, let's get stuck in.
It would be cool to get some kind of idea as to why some of you guys feel the need to jump into the middle of what the mainstream media would have us believe to be the monsters of the deep. Is it for 'the Buzz' that adrenalin rush of being in the company of sharks? Is it borne of fascination with…
